Trip Down South! ♡ Part 2: Savannah

in , by Hampton Ivy, 7/02/2017

And we've made it to Savannah! A place filled with beautiful homes and parks, but also some grit and party scenes by the water. We stayed a shorter amount of time here than Charleston and spent most of the time with family, so there are less photos, but don't worry(!), there's still a pretty good amount!

When there are beautiful homes on every corner, it's hard not to take photos of them! The architecture in Savannah is beautiful and the Spanish moss everywhere adds a dreaminess to everything. The charm is definitely there, but there's also a touch of grittiness when you go towards the water.

River Street was buzzing with people eating and bar hopping, and it was only the afternoon. It's definitely the place to go for a fun time, but it is also a bit touristy. In a way, you kind of have the best of both worlds in Savannah. You have the quiet and quaint by the parks, and then the bustle and fun by the river.

The meals at the places we went were great, but the one place that really stood out where the food was more than great, actually amazing, was The Olde Pink House. We got there right at 5pm when it opens for dinner, and before our reservations, to get cocktails in the cellar tavern and beat the crowd. When it came time for dinner, I ordered the mac and cheese jalapeno poppers for an appetizer, the caramelized vidalia onion and sweet potato ravioli for dinner, and the pecan pie for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious!

And that's my trip! I hope you all enjoyed this post, and if any of you friends have ever been or live there, let me know your favorite places in Savannah in the comments below!
Have a wonderful day!
